Question Water drinking

Hi,

I wrote last week about my kitty and his allergies. Thanks to the 2 of you who responded. I have introduced the wet food gradually and it seems to be working, except now he keeps bugging me for more! I do have a quick question though, I know he gets moisture and water from eating wet food, but he has stopped drinking so much water (compared to even before he was only on the dry food). I am not sure if I should be worried about this or not. He still drinks it, but just not as much. Is this normal?

If he is still drinking, you do not have anything to worry about IMO,he'll drink as much as he needs.
If he eats only wet food, how much are you feeding him??How often?

In nature, cats get most of the moisture they need from the flesh they eat. Canned food is about 80% water, so that is adequate, as long as he is still drinking some water.

Thanks so much! We have had a few problems with him, upper resp, ear mites, allergies etc so I am a worried mom all the time!
Our vet advised to feed him about half wet and half dry so he gets a bit of wet in the monring and at night and the rest of the dry is left out for him.

Canned food is 80% water so that would explain why his water intake is less than before. I would get a pet toothbrush to keep his teeth clean if you are giving canned food.

I guess it would have helped if I read all the posts, I wouldn't have repeated.
