What to do..lost little Calico cat!

This morning I saw a strange site,my neighbors 2 houses up were walking the side walk in their house-coats
Well,it turns out they were looking for a little cat.

The one girl is a vet-tech and was taking her friends cats to be spayed, while she went in to get the second carrier, the Calico in the first carrier had managed to escape, she has not had any food since yesterday, since she was getting spayed.

She is a 1yr old Calico,in-door cat and does not know this area at all..where do you look??

The girl did not feel right to check peoples back-yards,but when people were not at home,I went in and checked, others we knocked on doors and got permission to check garages and back-yards.
She is nowhere to be found, what to do now???
Poor little thing, she's probably terrified somewhere:sad:

I would think the normal things. Posters, litterbox/food outside, going around when it's quiet with a treat bag shaking it and calling. Although on your road the quiet will be harder. Look under cars, houses, trees, into bushes, sheds. Anywhere where it's dark and she will feel safe. Wait till it is almost dark. That is when she may feel safe enough to venture out.

Good luck.

Oh no, how sad, chico. 14+ gave some excellent ideas. I would get the friends clothes or something with the owner scent on it. Along with some old litter if posible. Anything for the cat to think it is "home".

If you can walk around with a flashlight at dusk and shine it into the dark nooks and crannies around the neighborhood, you might catch a glint of her eye-shine. Even if she's trying to stay hidden, the reflection of light off her retinas will give her away. I pray that she's found soon!!

Yes,I know the routine and I told them, the difference here is this kitty does not know the vet-tech,does not know the house or our area:sad:
The kitty(Belle)is also very skittish and afraid of strangers, never been outside.
I can just imagine how scared she must be..
I suggested to them to put out something really stinky in a trap.maybe the smell and hunger would make her come back.

Hubby and I was out last night, took a long walk with a flash-light,told some people in the neighborhood to look out for her.
The owners are a young couple with several cats and 6 kittens, she even asked if I wanted a kitten

They don't live in Oakville and I have not seen them back.
We will keep on looking, poor little kitty:sad:

The weird thing is,the Vet-Tech,did not know a black, white and orange kitty is a Calico

Chico, because the kitty is not from the area, it will be very, very important to get something that has a strong familiar scent to attract the kitty back to the yard. Her old litter box along with a blanket, or her bed.

I cannot get this little girl out of my head,by now she is probably sooo hungry and thirsty NOBODY is looking for her anymore

Today,I knocked on every door on our walk with Bailey, asking them to watch for a little Calico-cat and to let me know if they find her.

I wish I could just shake it off,saying she's gone,that's it,but I can't:sad:and I have not even seen her.
I asked the vet-tech to print out some posters, after all she is the one who lost her,but no posters as of yet,I don't have a picture,so I can't.

I feed my stray every night, call him Tux,maybe she will smell that food if she's nearby..I don't think Tux is neutered, have not been able to see if he still has his jewels.
But for sure this little girl will be pregnant in no time, then what??

Oh crap, shouldn't the vet tech be concerned, this is a person who is supposed to be compassionate about animals .

Thank goodness you are there.

I too pray that she will smell the food and come out of hiding.

This is so heartbreaking! That poor little kitty . And what kind of vet tech doesn't know how to properly secure a cat in a cat carrier?

chico, this is awful. It just makes me sick!

How can the vet tech lose her and then not even print out posters and put them up? What is the matter with people?

I hope the little cat will be found safe and sound. *sigh* It just breaks my heart.
