Exclamation Unusual Lump!!! Help

My dog bruno which is a dobermin pinscher is almost 7 now....three years ago we found an odd lump on him the vet said to put a hot pad on it once a day. We did that it went down. Then recently it seems the lump has gotten bigger we havent had a chance to bring him to the vet. Do you know of anything that could be wrong. Also lately he's been eating like crazy but it seems like he's so skinny. Do you know if it's stress because we've had to keep him in his cage because our house is being done and we can't watch him all the time. Do you think it is stress?

Lump????

Where is the lump?
Did the Vet figure out what it was before?
Keeping him in a crate most of the time will generate stress.
Can you build him a pen or kennel while the house is being redone?
The excessive eating and being skinny and coupled up in a crate does not add up.
You need to get the dog to a vet ASAP and figure out a better way to house him.
