Dion needs a home!

This is Dion. She is a 1 1/2 year old pit bull. Dion is a very happy dog that gets along well with everyone. She must be spayed ASAP and needs a rabies vaccine. Crate and obedience training are recommend because she is still very much a puppy. Dion must go to an experienced home only.

DION IS BEAUTIFUL.........It's too bad, she is soooooooo cute.
I don't understand how people can be so heartless, especially around Christmas time.

Welcome back by the way sammiec......Happy New Year.

Thanks Whinnie! I'm back... but being selective about what I read...

It really is heart breaking. The only good thing is that shelter the dogs are very well cared for, since there is always a low number of them.. and they seem to move in and out fairly quickly...

I was so saddened to see the number of cats there. I have never seen so many in that shelter! Poor little guys!

Adopting a Pit Bull

It would take a great deal of courage to adopt a pit bull today but some brave souls still do it. In October for 'adopt a dog month' I posted the pictures of all the dogs at the local humane society. I believe that the results were pretty good as one of my fellow employees left me a voice mail - I had made a typo in the phone number but the man who answered the phone indicated that he had already redirected quite a few calls.

One of the dogs was a pit bull whose previous owner tied her to a tree down by the canal, removed the tags and walked away. I fell in love with her and as this was around the time Michael Bryant started his PR exercise so my I feared for her. I already own two dogs and there is no way I could have a third right now - not until I stop renting and that house in the country dream is realized. Every time I went back she looked worst. She was becoming depressed and gaining weight. My heart broke for her.

Just before Christmas I went in with some speciality treats for all the dogs and a huge black Kong for this sweetheart. She had been adopted, by a dog walker. While I was there he came in off the road. This man had two dogs already and still had room for her (and to walk the dogs at the shelter) . She now lives on the beach with her pit bull brother and one other smaller mixed dog. My Christmas gift had come early and I left with a smile on my face. Michael Bryant wouldn't get his hands on this one (god I hate that pompous little man ).

So a big bravo and laurel to anyone who can save just one pit and a dart to Michael Bryant and the rest of the lying Liberal gestapo.

Dion

Well, DEZ found a wonderful home, so I'm posting here again to refresh this thread in hopes that someone else may be able to help DION find a new home.

Now my task is to help Sammiec find a home for this beauty....Why does Brampton only allow 3 dogs per household? I'd like to kick out all the humans and replace them with dogs.....

Mastiff...I'm so happy for DEZ too.

Lucky, since I'm local, when I have a minute, I'll give a call and see if I can find out any further info on this beauty. Maybe they'll have more now that they've obviously spent sometime getting to know her. I'm hoping when I call that I'm told she has gone to a forever home.
