She looks all beagle to me. And she sure is cute.

One of mine is quite fat too, the females can pork out quite a bit once they're spayed. I tried a weight-loss dog food with her, but the problem lies in the fact that my 83 year old mother WILL feed the dog from her plate.

I never knew a beagle that didn't love to talk. Sometimes it's actually pretty hard to get them to shut up. And they don't just bark, they ba-roo! But it's a sound you come to love.

Good luck with Copper. She looks like a great dog.

Very happy for you both she is a sweet little girl and looks like she fits right in there at home. Beagles can be over weight often, we have a friend with one male 2yr and he visites for over nights and play but he too is large. I worry about him, hope summer helps.

Enjoy this little one

This is so true.... Jake had been here many times and only talked like you write... when he did finally bark it scared the poop out of my boys and they came running. Big bark , loud but does not bark much at all. Makes me wonder if all beagles are like this.

Hi jazzmanian, glad to see you finally got you a beagle. She's very pretty. Our little Sophie is doing great. She had her first vet visit on Monday and she was so brave. The girls who gave her shots and cleaned her ears took her out of the room so I didn't have to watch. I think they suspected I might cry.

Copper is a very pretty girl! You must be very thrilled with this sweetie
I dont know too much about Beagles, but recently just "met" one while out walking my dog. I didnt realize that they bayed, was completely taken aback at his vocals. He was "baroo"-ing up a storm - I had to laugh as it was such distinctive and unusual sound (to me)

Sounds like your girl is a very quiet dog though, I send best wishes to Copper and her new family.

I just realized that even though I've heard all about baying, I've never heard it in person. Now I feel like I've missed something! Enjoy!
