Is it the one from California that has won the "worlds ugliest dog" contest for three years running?

Talking

Hee hee hee...
Although there is nothing apparently 'normal' about that "dog," is it normal for the breed to have all those dew claws (dew talons???) up their front legs??

That's not a dog, it's a pterodactyl...

Remember the dog that attacked his own foot for trying to steal his bone? Somehow, I picture this guy doing that and it freaks me out.

Cool Ugliest Dog? I don't think so

I had to check out the picture, and could tell as soon as I opened it, I was looking at a very senior Chinese Crested. It made me feel sad for a moment, but then I felt pretty good, because that old dog, was still someones beloved companion. Not to get on a soap box, but there are a lot of unattractive dogs in shelters, with beautiful souls, if people would just get past the looks. too bad we take the same criteria we seem to use on people and now transfer it to the animal world. The world's ugliest dog, looked quite beautiful to me.

I agree with you Dogs n me. The uglier and the more pathetic the animal, the more I am inclined to see the 'good soul' behind the mask. Hence, the dog becomes beautiful. I don't think I would have ever agreed to owning a pitbull if I had based my original judgement of the dog on 'looks'. Before I really knew the breed, they scared the willies out of me.

I admit I have called this dog ugly, I have passed on his pics to my friends and family via email.

Sam... After watching that video, and hearing her story and how much she loves him and he loves her....that's it. He may not be the most physcially appealing creature, but he is truly beautiful.

I saw him on City t.v. last night or thie night before. I would have felt guilty calling him ugly if he was in a shelter or some poor homeless pup but he is loved and happy so it was a great story

That has got to be one of the strangest dogs I've ever seen! I still think he's cute. Kind of looks more like a rat though (not that that's a bad thing).

I too saw him on TV a few times and I actually felt kind of sick about the whole thing.
The owner says she loves him, said he's sensitive about his feet, but yet she keeps bothering his feet to make him growl for the audience.
He to me looked like he would just like a nice big bed to crawl in to..no more cameras, just peace
I don't know enough about the owner, but she is a breeder of the Chinese Crested, maybe this little"ugly"dog was just a way to make $$$$$.
I know,I am the forever cynic

No Chico, I wondered the same thing. If not the money, she cerainly likes the attention - he has a web site and all of that. http://www.samugliestdog.com/

I felt so sorry for the poor little guy when she kept rubbing his feet and he growled in obvious pain. She certainly gains publicity for her breeding biz. She was on CNN with him this week!! And he is old and blind and sick!! He needs care, not all this stress!!

Pain? Was it really pain? Just because Jemma's feet get itchy from the ragweed and after 2 years of checking them, she growls full-out when you look like you might go near her paws. She doesn't do anything, just growls, and we find it funny... So we touch her feet....

But I mean, she growls for hugs, for Boo walking in the room, for talking to her while she's eating, for poking her lips, for asking her if she's crabby... Come to think of it, it's hard to make her not growl...

So ya, if it was me, and Jemma was ugly (not in this lifetime) then I'd probably show you how she growls too... ***shrugs***

I guess it's all in the eye or ear of the viewer. We are subjective beings and see the same situation based on our own experiences. It's why so many witnesses provide unreliable accounts and 5 ppl watching the same situation describe it differently.

CK,nobody can tell me this old, blind dog would not rather be laying in the grass, than being lugged around from one noisy place to another, poked and touch by strangers, regarded as a freak.
Sure,he's ugly, but still only a dog wanting love and care, being nearly blind and old,I am sure he's terrified of what is happening around him,IMHO the owner is doing this purely out of greed, not for the wellfare of this poor little ugly dog.
