Blue Danes

We have decided that we are going to get another dane in about a year. I would like some help finding some good breeders to check out. We have Montana, a fawn but we think we may want to get a blue this time around though health and temperment out weigh colour. I would also like to show with the new one.

I can't help you with the breeder, but good luck! My cousin has two danes, Pluto a fawn one and Daisy a Harlequin . They are just beautiful dogs, or as i refer to them - horses. I am not sure how much temperment and color are related, but his fawn one has a much better temperment than the harlequin.

Our guy is just wonderful. Montana was very easy to train, washroom, cues, etc. He is very social, loves everyone, especially babies. When my husband and I had first spoke about getting another I had to tell him that we really lucked out with Montana and the next one may not be so easy. I thought I better give him worse case scenerio.
Montana had opportunities that most dogs just don't get. Before he started his own classes I would bring him to work so he could join other play sessions. Seeing that I was the trainer I had my husband take him to all of his classes, puppy through advanced. He would also join me for special events and went to the doggy parks regularly. The new one will have even more with having the daycare.

Sound like you have a great job. I alway thought my dream job would allow me to take my dog to work.

Yes I would have to agree. I have been working with animals almost my entire working career. I don't know what I would do if I wasn't.

Here's one!!! When I was learning about breeders I found this one. They're a little bit far away, but hey, if they're good, what's a few kms, right?

I didn't realize what "blue" was until I clicked that link that prin posted!
My neighbor hasa beautiful blue Dane!! I've always called him silver colored when describing to friends! Glad I know the right coloring. I barely ever see his parents but if I do I will ask who their breeder was!

I saw those on a search. Their dogs are from a vet. Her kennel name is Karador, beautiful dogs. There was a link on the site for them. Does anyone know about her danes.

I'm confused. Who is Tavernier then? Are you saying the sires and dams of Tavernier's dogs come from vets?

Seems Stacey is offline there Prin.
I *think* that she was saying that oringally Tavernier's dogs came from Karador...who are vets.
Reading that website you posted that is what I understood. Karador is Tavernier's mentor, and it does say "Dr." for one of the Karador owners ...

Dr. Alison Jones, is also the President of the GDCC I believe. She would be a wonderful person to buy a blue from. My friend is getting a puppy from her in November (this will be her second Karador dane.)

I think she's located near Orangeville.

I would also have no hesitation in recommending Marni Keuber (Darkhorse) or Erin (Kismet) in Alberta. I believe that Erin is planning a breeding in the near future.
