will we ever hear the end of abuse & neglect??

it seems to never stop.

if you (in general) don't intend to effectively care and be fully responsible for the animal you wish to adopt, WHY GET IT IN THE FIRST PLACE???!

It's all about selfishness instead of selflessness!

I'm forever humbled at the forgiveness I see in an animals eyes who has been abused, yet longs to trust a human again.

I know this one will get your ladies tail feathers ruffled. I watched a program yesterday were the animal inforcement officer said that dogs do not understand what a hug is and they view that as a hostile action! Well, then the animals that I own must not be dogs, because they love hugs. My Keashound who was abused is constantly jumping on my daughter and wrapping his front paws around her neck!

Well, just like humans. Some like to be touched and hugged, and others are very nervous about it. I am a touchy person. I love to give my family hugs, and I constantly feel the need to touch them. Even if it is just holding their finger as we watch TV. So I feel the same way about my dogs. And they seem to feel the same way toward us. If Rascal is laying on the ground while we are watching TV he has to have at least one of his paws resting on one of us at all times!

I don't own a dog,but I think most dogs like a hug,it was probably just the fact that this was a small child(don't have one of those either )and he was trying to kiss the dog on the mouth, maybe the dog thought he was going to bite him.

I know,it's no joking matter for the poor little boy,but hopefully parents and dog-owners have learned some lessons from stories like this.
I am hoping Bandit will go to an adult home and not be put down,we'll see today.

It all comes down to commen sense. If you don't know a dog you don't allow your kids that close to them. Even if you do know your dogs you have to watch small children around them because they can show signs of aggresion in the dogs view.
