Thumbs up Beautiful husky finds a beautiful home

Written by Marie-Claude (Montreal SPCA dog-walking volunteer co-ordinator and one of the sweetest people I met in 2006)

I have WONDERFUL adoption news!!!!!!
After being homeless for 6 months and living 4 years of abuse, our sweet husky Peggy has found her family!!!!!!!!!Yahooooooooooooooo!!!

For those of you who don´t know Peggy´s story, she was seized form a St-Jean-de-Matha musher in July 2006 on the basis of grave neglect. 21 Huskies came to our shelter but Peggy ended up in a pound. She found her way to the SPCA in November.

Annie, the Team Leader of Operation Husky, is the one who finds homes for the rescued Huskies. She carefully interviews and screens interested families, making sure that they are the best family for each dog. Ultimately, she lets the dogs decide who they want to live with.

Last week, Peggy met and chose to live with Susan and her 4 generation family of women!!!! Peggy left the shelter Saturday evening!
Peggy is afraid of men as she was beaten by her male musher so this family could not be any more PERFECT for her!!!!!! Peggy will also share her life with 2 feline companions and with a tolddler who will grow up with one of the most special dogs in the world!

Annie has found homes for 20 of the 22 rescued Huskies!!!!!

My heart just melted, I am so happy that she has found a great home. She was coming along with everything when I last saw her. I prayed every day that these 2 dogs were given a starting chance.
Thank you very much Marko, you just made my year

GG,I did not mean to complain about Barnoti, you seem to know him,I don't,but have heard and read some not so good things about his policies.
As for as these poor dogs and horses, anybody that steps in and rescues them from this horrible situation,is a hero
Hopefully this sweep of millers will continue and spread across Canada and hopefully there are enough facilities to home the animals and treat them

Everyone's entitled to their opinion, yours included. There has been alot of negative media regarding him and many feel this way. That being said I'll always be behind him when he does help (even he needs pawsitive feed back) but will pester him to death when he doesn't.

I'm so happy to hear all but 2 of these huskies have found wonderful homes for the remaining two

Loona adopted - ALL the Huskys have now been adopted!

Written by Marie-Claude - Volunteer Dog walking co-ordinator

"After spending 6 months at the SPCA, Annie Arcouette had found a foster home for Loona to stay with until she was adopted. Three weeks later, her foster mom decided to adopt Loona!!!!!!!!!!

There is more to this great news! The lady adopted a dog from Loona´s pack last summer!!! Loona gets to live with one of her old companion!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Yaaaaaaaaaaaaahhoooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo oooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!! And the lady has 2 other dogs!! that´s 4 total!!! Loona is a dog that needs a pack and she got one!!!!

Annie has completed her mission: she has found extraordinary forever homes for all 22 sled Huskies seized from the St-Jean-de-Matha musher. Some people said nobody would want to adopt retired sled dogs who had been neglected, abused and had never lived in a home but Annie knew they were wrong! All 22 Huskies are now beloved family pets!
Congratulations to you Annie! You have all of our admiration and respect. You go enjoy your bottle of Champagne, get some rest and spend all of your free time with your pack!..."

I second that - GREAT work Annie
