Brenda, you would defenitly have to do something, before that poor cat is killed.
Call Humane Society and tell them about it and if they are not fast enough, maybe you and your husband could go there, there is no way I would allow that to happen to an innocent animal. Please make sure the cat is taken away from this moron.

Brenda,I don't think the police would bother, but you can try,at least you have reported him.
In abused animal case,I think an animal-shelter would be your best bet..

Sounds like "animal cruelty" to me I would call police & SPCA. At 15 y.o. this teen should know better. He needs a wake-up call!

That is cruelty to animals and can dislocate the bones in the tail and is no different than a beating . Hopefully animal control will take the cat away.
Now WHERE THE HEL$ ARE THE PARENTS!!!!!!!!!!!!

That's what I was wondering...shouldn't that have been the obvious solution? I know when I was a kid that's how it would have played out...after only one incident too What's wrong with people?????

Brenda, good job, hopefully someone will help the poor cat before it's too late...
I know I might be a bit looony, but I think I would have gone over to their house, demand they give me the cat,but then again it's easy for me to say,I am not there

I wouldn't have gone over there. If they do that to a cat, I can imagine what they'd do to a human.
Please let us know how this turns out, Brenda. |

Just so you guys know, you CAN call the police in an instance like this.
If you get any grief, you can cite the Criminal Code of Canada... http://laws.justice.gc.ca/eng/C-46/p..._XI-gb:s_445_1 Excerpt: 445.1 (1) Every one commits an offence who (a) wilfully causes or, being the owner, wilfully permits to be caused unnecessary pain, suffering or injury to an animal or a bird; If parents are aware, they are also liable as well, if they own this cat and permit this. I hope this helps. I am a dispatcher and would certainly send someone to a report such as this (and unfortunately, I have done so before!). |

Thank goodness the cat is safe........but what about the next animal this kid comes into contact with??? It always frustrates me that the law doesn't take animal abuse seriously - the statistics on how that relates to more violent crimes is staggering!!!!!!
