Unhappy Dog sick!

Please someone help me, my year old yorkie last night got into ivy
and rolled around in it , so I had to give her a bath again. Now she is having trouble with her bottom. Also last week we put flea meds on her because the flea's will not leave her alone and it seems that we do the meds more then we should. Could this be flea eggs on her for her to act so weird, she takes a few steps then sits and she keeps doing this. Or could it be the ivy in the back yard around the deck???????

I got your p'm and thought I'd answer it here so it may help everyone.

How do you know this ivy is poisonous?

AND if you do know it is why do you have it growing by your deck, perhaps it would be a good idea to remove it, don't u think?

Can't say for certain what is the problem with your dog.

However if you gave the flea control inappropriately, your dog is very small you should discuss this with your vet.

Until you see the vet I would not make situations worse IE do NOT give the dog a bath or put any ointment etc... on the rash until you consult with your vet as you may make things worse.

Having said that, go make yourself an appt!

Keep us posted

Fever In Dog

Please help my dog...All at once she ran to me and started panting heavily like she was in some serios labor, but she isn't pregnant. She had pups 5 weeks ago, although my males are acting like she is in season. I took her temp and it was up to 107.0. I gave her a baby aspirin and gave her a cold bath. I brought her fever down to 100.4 now it is back up to 105.3 Does anyone have any suggestions how to keep her fever from spiking????

Unhappy

The reason I haven't taken her to the vet is that I live on a fixed income and this being a Saturday night...emergency cost are out of my reach. I was just really hoping to get her fever down and controlled until Monday morning. Then I could take her then (monday)and will if she makes it. There isn't any 24 hour vets in my area, and was just looking for some help...thankyou to anyone who can help my baby... IminTxs

So which is it one or the other?
You can't afford it or you don't have a 24 hr emergency hospital?

Go here and click on your city or nearest one and find a vet

How many dogs do you have? Why aren't they spayed and neutered? Why would someone on a fixed income be breeding dogs? How are you going to be able to get all the puppies their necessary shots?

Your bitch NEEDS to see a vet! If you can't afford to take care of the dogs you have, you certainly shouldn't be breeding more!

If she makes it?That's a nice comment to make about her.She WOULD make it if she had the right care. What, did you not think she would ever get sick.Find a way to get the money.Ask a friend, family. If you are on a fixed income. Then you really shouldn't have these dogs.As L.R said, how are you going to pay for these pups to have the shots they are supposed to have.Do your dogs have shots. And why the heck are they not fixed?Come on,get with it.Man I get tired of hearing things like this. Some people just shouldn't have animals. If this is your so called baby, then you would have found a way to get her to see a vet.Even an emergency. You can never put a price on a pet.

I think you should have thought about the breeding of your dog a little more. We were thinking of breeding our gsd, to make some extra money, but then we would be adding to the problem like you just did.

Don't ya think that there are already enough homeless pups. How about thinking what is going to happen to these poor pups, before you breed NOT AFTER.

This is soooooooooo Damn aggrevating.

Am I getting my point across!!!??????????????????

Smile My Doberman

Hello,
I'm new at this and this is my first time, so pls be patient with me. I'm trying t get some feedback for my Dobie who is leaking on my sofas the past few days and its not getting any better. I will call the vet tomorrow (Mon) but do you have any ideas or comments as to why this would start all of a sudden? Thanks

How old is your dog? Is it a female? Spayed? If so, she might have "spay incontinence" or a bladder infection. Only a vet can tell you what's wrong, but both of these conditions need vet care.

In furture if you have a question, start a new thread so more people will see it.

Do you have a pic of your Dobie? They are my favorite breed.
