Well Annie is a lot older than we were let to believe. She is about 12 to 14, not the 7 to 9 they thought. She tires easy and spends most of her time curled up on my couch. Missie, Tyra and Quincy do not bother her. They just gently sniff her. To night she did her version of a reverse sneeze and she scared herself so bad she ran to me. I calmed her down. She was so scared she expressed her anal glands on me. We had decided she will stay here at Shayker's Haven until it is her time to go to the bridge. She is covered in warts and I think she is mixed with a pug. She is beautiful to me. She likes her food and cookies. She will stand at the door when she wants to go out for a pee. This is a far cry from the story that was given at the pound. The owner said she peed in the house all the time. Not so. It was , I think, a senior dog dump. This little Annie will know love, kindness and compassion for the rest of her life. When I look into her eyes, I see the fear and lonelyness reflected from her glazed eyes. She looks at me from a head down pose. It just breaks my heart. But she is safe and loved.

Bless you Shaykeija for bringing some much needed happiness into Annie's life.

Because of you she will know what it is like to be loved and, of course, she will repay you over and over again with her love tenfold.

Shayker's Haven, indeed.

You have a kind soul for taking this girl in and keeping her. To know she's as old as she is, and will be living the rest of her life in a home where she is loved is a great thing. Who could resist that smile. She has a beautiful little face. How anyone could have dumped her at a shelter, knowing she would not come out alive is beyond me.

In my opinion, senior dog dumps are the ultimate betrayal in the animal world. Annie is really sweet looking, I'm sure she will enjoy the rest of her years with you, please keep us updated

That's like putting an aging parent in a nursing home and never visiting them or calling them or giving a crap if they are happy or not.

I can see why Annie stole your heart. Actually, she looks like a puppy to me.
