dogs head pulses when sniffing hard
Hi, I have a golden retriever about a year and a half old. We've noticed if he is sniffing on something really hard. The muscles on his head seem to start pulsing. Is this something I should be concerned with,.

I don't think so....my Mastiff does the same thing when he's really intent on something...there's no redness or heat coming from his head is there?

His temperature doesn't change,it just does this freaky pulsing thing and if you listen hard you can hear what sounds like his teeth clicking together. Other than that he's perfectly fine. It's just odd to watch and i've never had another dog do this.

Does your dog have the sniffles or runny nose?

Nope, He only does it when he is intently smelling something. You know when you have to push them away kinda sniffing.
