Puppy Mill in Ripley ONT busted!

Heard on CBC Radio this morning that a large puppy mill operation in Ripley, Grey/Bruce county, was investigated and busted BUT there is little in the law that lets this kennel owner face any charges as he is a liscenced kennel operator. As we know, the laws need to change so that arse-hoes like this face stiff penalties. As it stands, it sounded like the rep from OSPCA said that this person may very well be able to have the animals back, mostly older females, a few males and about 4 litters of pups, if he complies to cleaning up the joint, building suitable housing etc. He is also facing the bill for the care of the animals. In all possibility, he COULD meet the requirements and start all over again.

The dogs are now in the care of OSPCA staff and are having a good grooming, warm place to rest, (apparently the basement was pretty cold!), and are getting extensive dental work in some cases.

You can see why the laws need to change.

I am happy at least for now, for these animals. They may stand a chance:love:
