New Springer photo

I can't believe Rio is already 11 months! I thought I would share a photo from a sunny day in Barrie, Ontario.

Thanks Chico- my Rio is a female..I do know other Rios who are males!! We are very pleased with her coat. She is still actively growing. Having said that her mother is a the smaller standard. She should get to 19 inches and hopefully about 45lbs. She is 1 of 5 female pups. The litter had no males.

She looks great. Her fur is so white, that part of her almost blends in with the snow.

Awww so cute! I love Rio's freckles - Barkley doesn't have many! Our old Springer, Candy had a ton and when I was little my mom used to tell me to count them to keep me occupied while she did other things

Thanks for the comments!! Rio has so "dotties" on her nose. At first I wished she didn't but knowing who she is 11 months later--it adds to her personality!!

I have added 3 photos-

She gets VERY happy when outside!!! Note her smile...all around her lips gets flushed. Tongue deepens in color

Her favorite spot is hogging the pillow in bed. Not even my Cagney(7yr st.schnauzer) gets this spot!

I am lucky that my friend groomed Springers for years. Rio is very good for this every 8 weeks

We are very lucky!! Sean also grooms Cagney our Standard Schnauzer. He owns a Cagneys littermate (Sydney) so it is double trouble!! It is through Sean and his Springers that we fell in love with the breed. He use to show Springers for years. I think he saves us 65$ per dog every 8 weeks--that helps out tremendously. He has 3 dogs and we have 2 so it keeps him busy. I am very lucky that he programs their grooming into his blackberry so he doesn't forget-it alarms him (technology is great)
Meg4050- it sounds like you have had springers for years!!! Yahoo they are special!

All my life! Trying to convince my Mom Barkley needs a friend - there's been an elderly Springer at the THS for a few months now

OR a fun little Springer pup that Romeo can torture so Barkley can have a break!

I am so envious of you even thinking of getting another!!! I would love another Springer for Rio. I am finding it a lot of work with Rio and Cags- and I am starting back to work next week. I have to say no to more dogs for now.
PLEASE,please please let me know if you get another!!!! I wish I was independently financially secure and that I owned a huge pocket of property... I always dream about owning my own dog park with all the bells and whistles....it of course would be free and there would be behaviourists and nutritionists on site for advice!!!!!!!!!! Back to reality.

Forgot to add--the land is connected to a large body of water with a large beachfront suitable for the dogs!!!
