Toronto Humane Society phone call

I emailed the THS to give them the heads up about the reading today. A lady phoned me back to thank me. We had a great discussion about this legislation and how an MPP Marylin Churley has emailed them for more information. This MPP if VERY worried about the costs to municipalities should this ban go through <-- that's the lady to talk to!!!

She informed me that they are still adopting out the pit bulls they have. They have begun to form an information package about the dogs and included a DVD of the dogs playing at the shelter together. To give these people a better prosepctive about pit bulls.

They are aware that MB has a person vendetta against the "breed" and are trying their best to makeiit aware to others.

As for their Saturday morning spot on Global - she said it's an older show and that they include pit bulls on it. But they in the middle of changing it but it's pretty much a rerun for donations for adoptions.

Good job, Sammie!

Have you watched that show? I have forbidden my wife from watching it. I remember the first time, I was outside, and I turned around, and there she was staring at me with her eyes welling up. I'm freaking out, going, "What happened?? What's wrong?". "I watched the Humane Society Show". After this happened a couple of times, she started giving me heck for letting her watch it! (And just for the record, before people think I'm an ogre, we do this as a joke. I tried to forbid her from doing something once...she's still laughing at me!) The pitbull puppy gets her every time. I still remember walking in the house, and she was lying on the floor hugging Daisy, with Daisy looking at me with that look that says, "I don't know what's going on?!"

But I digress. As I said, good job. Did she give you any feedback about the possibility of a campaign around informing people?

Well I wonder

Well I am wondering what the City of Toronto are going to do with the pittie guys they have because they don't appear to be posting them for adoption anymore.

I think that was a temporary thing. They're back up, and all the time stamps says "0 hours old"

(Darn it! I hate going to that site!! I'm afraid of winding up taking something home!!)

There are only 4 dogs showing as being available for adoption in all of the TAS shelters, none of which are Pitbulls.

There are some under "found dog" but not for adoption.

Am I looking at the wrong thing? I'm looking under the Toronto Humane Society. Are they not the same thing as the animal shelters?

There are different, THS is Toronto Humane Society, but the City of Toronto dogs are with TAS (Toronto Animal Services). When you look of petharbor.com you can choose the TAS shelters, there's quite a few, and have a look.
