Extremely Urgent!!

Apparently there is a calico cat who looks like she will give birth very shortly, and no one in the area (Rigaud) will let her in their homes.

If someone can foster her and her babies, the kittens will go to a vet clinic for spay/neuter and adoption as soon as they are old enough at 8 weeks.

sniff...

I'd love to but... I'll take a wild guess that she is not vaccinated against panleuko ?

Lashka, my foster puppy went back the SPCA today. She'll get her stitches out and be put up for adoption this weekend... and I'm all alone...

Damn virus...

Won't Jane (name?) from hudson vet take her in? I thought she normally did in that area...

Let me know if no one comes forward and I'll work on it here.

I have some 1 week olds that were abandoned in an apartment and found two days later so they are sketchy if any will make it. Two haven't but three are still holding there own.

Left in an empty apartment to die, that is truly evil. I hope those people die an equally painful and drawn-out death.

Oh boy...why do we bother? It's no use. The idiots, morons, cretins and indecent creeps are winning by a huge margin.

They will take the kittens when they are 8 weeks old and adopt them out.

Oh no, Jenn, another one? I'm so sorry. I've been thinking of the first one since I met him.

Because the planet is run by morons. I've got a friendly stray on my balcony with a bad URI and my hands - and feet - are tied. Agony.

OMG,it's like a living nightmare for cats/kittens,before Pets.ca I had no clue there was so much misery out there,so many heartless cruel people
It must be overwhelming for you kitty, but not a losing battle, every little cat saved,is one cat less, dying a slow death from starvation and sickness. you guys for caring!

Now have one little one left. He's a fighter so hopefully he can make it through.

Seems lately someone is just trying to push all the rescuers to their limits to see if we'll give up or keep fighting... maybe it's a test for the afterlife.. Would be nice if it would just let up a little bit.

Badger.... poor little thing.. is their some way we can be of help?

Any News?

Is the calico mama-to-be tame? Can she be caught?

If so, we have a spot.

Lisa.

Thanks Lisa! Can I also drop off Crinkle, Snowflake, Autumn and Dolly too??

J/K!!!

Actually, I believe this girl has a place to go to. A nice lady in Lachine said she would take her in and it's being worked on right now!

Badger's outdoor cat sounds like it could use a little TLC if you want to take that one!

Thanks Kayla, so far she's holding her own.. very active and nursing fairly well so hopefully she'll keep going past the two week mark.. that's normally the critical point for the feeding part.

Not many females this time of year. Many of the stray and abandoned females die during the winter, giving birth, trying to nurse kittens in minus 20 degree weather while starving, and losing out to the big toms for whatever food is available.

BMDLuver, do you have the mother cat too?

A Mama (and a CALICO too boot!) I can handle but with my tailless cat in diapers again and a room full of medicated rhino cats/kittens, I don't think I could handle any more "medical" cases, much as I would like to.

LR, people either moved with Mom cat or dumped her outside. Only the 5 kittens were found in the apartment. Don't know where Mom is or it would most likely have saved their lives. How anyone could just leave 5 kittens to slowly starve to death is beyond me. I hope Karma comes back tenfold.

Update?

LR,

Did the Calico Mama find a home? I feel so bad for her. I just imagine the poor creature trying to get into people's houses and people slamming their doors shut on her.

BMD,

How is your little one? I am sending positive thoughts. I was nursing a little one before Christmas but lost him at 5 weeks. All the others in the litter had died. I still have Mama though. Should have known that if she had abandoned him it was because something was likely wrong.

Little one is still holding her own.. just need her to keep going so that if she needs some medical help ie. antibiotics, that she'll be old enough to have some. It's always a crap shoot with little kittens so young but you just keep hoping that someone will look down on the little one and give it the opportunity to have a great life.

Glad to hear Mommy cat has gone to the vet. Hope all is well with her and her little ones.
