help please

Hi Everyone I need some help. My cat recently had kittens and to make a long story short the vet told me to bottle feed two of them. They recently started eating real food. My husband was out at the shed today and found four newborn kittens. We have searched and searched with no mother to be found. The kittens are cold, but starting to warm up. We don't have the nipple for the bottle and they aren't taking a dropper very well. Any advice? All vets in our area are closed so we have to wait until tomorrow and the only shelter here kills so I need to try to do this myself if possible. Any clue how I cold get them to eat better?

Isn't your cat still lactating? If she is, alternate rubbing your kittens and the new ones with the same towel and see if she will feed and care for the new kittens. She very well may.

If not, here is an emergency formula you can use to feed them ONLY until you can get proper vet care tomorrow.

HOMEMADE RECIPE FOR KITTEN FORMULA

3 oz. condensed milk
3 oz. water
4 oz. plain yogurt (NOT low-fat)
3 large or 4 small egg yolks


You also need to stimulate them to relieve themselves after they eat.

The other mother cat won't even nurse her own kittens that why the vet suggested I bottle feed them. We tried anyway and as soon as one of her kittens ran up to her she started growling at the new ones. I have kitten formula left over from the other kittens. I got them to take a dropperful each. Is that enough? They still aren't getting warm no matter what I do. So far I have tried rubbing and a heating pad.

Can you put the kittens on a water bottle filled with warm water or an electric heating pad on low with a towel over it?

What do u think about that LR would that help the kitties?

I have them on a heating pad on low with a blanket on top

Be very careful about the heating pad. They can't crawl yet so they can't get away if it's too hot. Normally a pop bottle or water bottle filled up with warm water wrapped in a towel is safer as it doesn't get as hot.
