Ancientgirl, the Rabbit is a very pale meat, almost greyish in colour. It is superground up compared to Pawsitively-raw. I like seeing them have to chew threw their chunks of meat, I think they may be cleaning their teeth .
They really don't like cat food and barely touch it when they get that feeding. They do eventually eat it, but I think it is out of sheer hunger. I am mixing some of Sweet Pea's Oganics, by Nature which is organic, human grade cat food, no veggies or grains mixed with their Kitten Wellness, just to keep the meat content high. Rabbit has been their favourite so far. I let Puddles sniff it and she kinda took an interest.

Oh, I may try getting some rabbit next then. I've been breaking Maks' medallions up, but I leave them kind of chunky, so he does have to break it up. LOL, I see him chewing on the chunks with his eyes closed, he looks so cute. Like he's really concentrating on tearing it up. Maybe he's pretending he just downed a huge water buffalo.
I think as long as they can't just lick it up like they do the canned that has to be good.

Blood in poo
Their poo is a little runny today and I noticed some blood in it. They also have tape worm.. Should I stop the raw?? Could the bones be scratching the colon? Could it be the tapeworm? I didn't see any undigested food/bones. They really seem to be able to chomp on the bones well. They really don't like the cat food as much so I don't really want to give it to them full time.
It was so much easier with Sweet Pea's fosters because I didn't have to worry about bones and taurine because they were still nursing about 5 times a day at this age, so I was giving them meat that we were having for supper, no bone or taurine worries. These guys should still be nursing

Can you get them some of that kitty formula? Maybe giving them some of that with some Wellness for kitties would be a good idea for a few days.

Quote:
Mommas milk is best, and they can get all their vitamins from the kitten Wellness so I am not going to purchase kitten formula, they may as well eat the Wellness. 14+ said that momma would be bringing them back mice at 4 weeks to eat so I thought the bones would be fine. Maybe it is the tapeworms making the blood

i just wanted to also say that you are doing a fantastic thing with these little guys!! and they are soooo adorable!! now wheres some pics?!?!?!
you know, if you want to you can pick up some chicken necks as sort of kitten recreational bones! i doubt they are big enough to really get some hunks off of it but it would give them something to goof off with and gnaw on. you could also try frozen rats/mice once a week. i talked to someone about frozen rats/mice a few weeks ago. said to go with the ones that are flash frozen. if they have cut necks, dont use them. -ashley

I wish you could have had that taken care of today. I'd hate for them to spend the weekend with bloody poop.
