Match Yourself to Your Best Matched Breed!

I wish anyone coming looking for a dog would look at this site! It's fun too as it matches you to your best matched breed through a few questions. I took it and the breeds it chose for me German Shepherd and Alaskan Malamute, wow! Give it a try and see how well you're matched:

The breed for me are retrievers. There is another website that go by your personality and tells you what breed you are, gone2thedogs.com. It says I'm a Kerry Blue Terrier.

I got 26 breeds but most were either in the working group or the retrieving group. I did another test before and got only Boxer. I found that weird. I wouldn't say I'm a boxer person...

wow what a great resource! I matched 100% with Basset Hound, Harrier, Bulldog, several retrievers and spaniels, Boxers and Rottweilers. Althought I have a beagle and beagle mix they are older and I believe the breeds above would be more suited to us if we were to get a puppy.

Mine was not far off - 100% fr Bichon Frise tho 90% for poodles and beagles - and I have had beagles and poodles and loved them. I'd do OK with a bicho too granted.

I had 19 breeds match at 100%, 47 breeds match at 90%, and 36 breeds matching at 80%. There are too many to list, but the majority came under the sporting group. That's about right with me!

Wow! Bichon, Poodle (toy & miniature), and Cocker! Right on! Although, I've never had a Bichon. I consider myself to be 100% Poodle and grew up with Cockers.

I am 100 % matched with 36 breeds.... thankfully the Aussie being one of them. Most of mine are in the hound group.

I'm a 100% match with only 8 breeds. But, they're all great breeds : Greater Swiss Mountain Dog, Newf, Flat-coated Retriever, Golden Retriever, Labs, Field Spaniel, Harrier, and something called the "Shiloh Shepherd", which I'd never head of before but from what I read, it's someone trying to "bring back the good ol' days" by cross-breeding to create a dog that looks like a GSD from way back when. Doesn't sound like a "breed" I'd ever really consider (I know, it's not really a "breed"). But I'll take one of each of the rest of them!

I am very proud to say that the 100% match was my trusty rottweiler. I am so proud. I even mentioned I had a young child under 8. Goes to show you. I love my breed

Yayyyyyy,I matched with the GSD........

As for the Shilo Shepherd, they are a beautiful breed.

BUT what I am tired of hearing with this breed and the King Shepherd is that they are trying to get the old breed of the GSD..This is sooooo wrong....The true GSD was not a huge and heavy breed.

My mother owned her first GSD when she lived in Germany for 10 years..This was MANY MANY years ago.And I have a picture of King...And he looks no different then what my GSD's look like today.

You can even do a search on them and will see that they look nothing like these breeds...

Sorry,just my little rant....

My 100% match is Italian Greyhound. But the breeds I really like and want are at least 90% matches (Pug, Great Dane...)

Okay, I did the one at gone2thedogs and I'm a Lundehund (Norwegian Puffin Dog). Never even heard of it before, but it's cute.

Yuck, that test didn't really work for me...the dogs that matched 100% were retrievers, setters and a wheaten terrier (none of which would ever make my top 20, let alone my top 5!)

Gone2thedogs didn't do much better - I ended up with an Old Englsih Sheepdog!

Hmm...

The sites are different eh? The K9 country one matches you to the breed you should get, based on your personality, and the gone2thedogs one tells you what breed you would be based on your personality. Your personality and what you want in a dog are two different things. If my dogs were me, I'd go insane...

I matched to both goldens, bulldogs and pugs, and most of the really big working breeds (dane, mountain dogs, etc) all breeds that I've been reading up on (it'll be years before we have room for another dog but I figured I'd start reading now).
Having said that, and keeping in mind my dog is a pom/shih tzu mix, the pomeranian breed didn't even make the list, and the shih tzu wouldn't apparently work because of 'trouble with children' which is funny because Charley loves kids, the smaller the better (granted he's never been hurt by one either)
