Has Winston had a blood panel done yet?

Did you ask your vet about a blood panel?

Hey guys just looking for an opinion here....I have given Winston approx 1 cup of kibble with the potatoes and beef yesterday and today as the vet told me. Today is his last day of the metronidazole. He had a poop tonight that is starting to be less formed than they have for the past 2 have been.

I did buy the bag of Sweet Potato and Fish last week and havent actually started to use it because Winston still had some Orijen left. Normally I would mix both together to make the transition but I am worried about 2 things. 1) Could the Orijen be bad? smells fine...
2) Will I be creating more of a problem by starting him on this new food?

Maybe I am just over reacting??

Well since this last post on Wed last week I decided to try his old food rather than incorporating something new. So after the first day back on his old food he started immediately to have diarrea again so I pulled him off the food and fed him beef and rice for 2 days. The diarrea did clear up almost immediately. I then went back to the store and bought him a fresh bag of Orijen and its been 4 days now of normal poop! ( I hope it stays that way!)

So I am not 100% sure but it would appear that I have had a bad bag of food???? although its hard to tell because its fisht to begin with??

My boy sure seems happy to be having normal poops again!

We are going in soon for the heartworm tests so I am going to discuss the blood panel at that time.

Thanks for all your support guys!

Wow! Have you told the store where you got the food about Winston's issues? Maybe they will test the food or, at the very least, give you a refund or replacement.
I am glad Winston is feeling better.

You could also try contacting Orijen, they may be willing to send you a coupon for a free bag or a few to try to make up for the veterinary costs. Lots of manufacturers will help you out like that.

I was actually going to send an email to Orijen with the lot number in case others are having issues too!

I'm glad to hear that Winston's stools are back to normal again Winston. A few years back when I was feeding Merrick to the guys, all four of them went down with diarrhea one after the other like dominoes...I got medication from the Vet and it cleared up in no time, exchanged the bag of food and voila it happened again.....That is when I wrote Merrick off and started feeding Acana.
