Being at the right place, right time
Yesterday, bright and early..7am, I was driving to a appointment. As I was driving I seen a mom raccoon and her 3 kits starting to cross the road. I then see a truck flying the other way....long story short, I rescued mommy and her 3 babies from getting smoked. It was frustating, people just don't care and can't be bothered to even slow down. Luckly I was there and these little guys and mom were able to make it cross the road.
Today, i was on my way home from the mall. As I was driving I seen a bird sitting on the road, not moving. I pulled a u turn, threw my four ways on, and got out. He was consious, but not moving. I had a box in my car, poked some air holes in it and went to get him. As soon as I was about to bent down and pick him up, he flew away. I assuming that he probably got clipped and was just stunned for a bit. Luckly he was good enough to fly away. Again it is frustating to think how many people probably passed him by and either just didn't see him or just didn't care. Sadly I am going with just didn't care. But on a good note...he flew away. |

It reminds me of the time I was driving down the road and two birds were on the side of the road, flapping their wings wildly and going nuts. I thought they had gotten hit by a car, so I backed up and got out and went to see if I could help them. They were mating. I felt so stupid, and the guys that were standing outside in front of a manufacturing plant on their lunch break must have really got a charge out of it.

Thanks guys. My mom always shakes her head at me, when I tell her lol, saying just don't kill yourself. It's like second nature too me.

Yay!!!
I see people all the time not even slowing when there is wildlife on the street, sometimes the animal get to the side of the road in time, sometimes they don't , it is very upsetting. .
