- CAT WAS FOUND - Oshawa Ontario - Lost Female Black Cat

Beloved family pet, missing from Chaleur Avenue (Cedar and Phillip Murray, right across from G.L. Roberts school) in Oshawa on February 15th. Female, four year old black cat, yellow eyes with long fur that can appear a deep brown in sunlight. Answers to the name "Rahne" (pronounced "Rain"). Very friendly and affectionate, but might run if approached. She is fixed, not declawed and microchipped.

Our family is not complete without her..

Please call (905)720-4464 if you have seen her

We adopted this kitty four years ago from the Humane Society and she has been a family member ever since. She is the most loving and brilliant cat that I have ever known. She is my best friend, my shadow, and her lack of presence in our house has left a dark void.

Here are a few pictures of her:

Here is a video of her doing her tricks:

She is beautiful.

Try contacting all surrounding vets, shelters and pounds. You may have to frequent them alot.
Put up posters where ever there is high human traffic such as corner stores, grocery stores, gas stations.

I hope for a quick reunion.

Thank you for replying Ben Max

Some news:

Just got a call from a locale about a black cat getting hit by a bus. I ran up to see it, it sure did look like her when I first looked. But she seemed too thin, even for having gone without food for a couple of days .. and the tail was too short. This one seemed half the length that Rahne has. We've collected the remains and will take them to Animal Control Services tomorrow to see if that cat was micro chipped and if it actually was her. I pray that it was not.

So sorry that this is happening. I know how difficult it is when you do not know where your fur pet is.
I hope this is not your cat..and at the same time I feel badly for the cat that was killed.
Either way - you will find out.
Prayers to you and I hope for a positive outcome.

RIP to the little one that you currently have.

Turns out that this was not our cat, so I'm happy that we can continue searching. I'm sad because whoever loved the kitty that passed will probably never know as they were not microchipped and had no collar.

Thank you Goldengal I agree with you, she is gorgeous!

I was just sitting here thinking about it, and I got myself all worked up and mad. Because the day that she slipped out, the city sent out construction workers who worked right outside of our house for the entire day. They made an incredible amount of noise, and I'm certain that they managed to scare her further away than she normally would have gone.

Tonight is a cold one, and it's her fourth night away from us. I hope that she is warm and will return to us soon.

I'll be heading out in about a half an hour to call for her like I have every other night. I haven't had much sleep this week ..

Take a flashlight with you, they may have scared her into a dark, protected corner.

Good luck

She home!!! I went out for my nightly call session for her like always at 9:00 pm and she finally answered me! She was around 10 houses down, on someone's porch under a woodpile. She's skinny like you wouldn't believe, and she peed on me in the car, but she's home!!

That is wonderful news! As always in these situations a trip to the vet to make sure everything is ok would be a good idea IMO.

Talking

Thank you thank you so much everyone. She's sleeping on my lap as I type. She keeps waking up and meowing like crazy until I reassure her that I'm there ..poor kitty!

I'll be taking her to the vet pronto tomorrow when they are open, as it is a holiday today where we are

P.S. Thank you to whoever added "Cat was found" to my topic line. I'd forgotten to think to do that. :P

She must be so relieved to be home, warm, fed and safe. Hopefully she won't be going outside again .
