Is everyone ready for the seed trade?
Just wondering if everyone is ready for the seed trade now?
My Echinacea may not be ready, it's hard to tell. We had a really hard frost last week and I lost a lot of late flowering seeds. Many are mushy. But I did get some other stuff saved, about 6 types of flowers. And we have donations coming in from people who do not want to trade, but are providing seeds. Any questions - feel free to ask. You can put the seeds into teeny tiny plastic zip bags, they should be available at your local dollar stores in the craft section. Or cut up bits of paper to make tiny seed envelopes. There are tons of templates online you can print out. Remember to label! A little slip of paper is easiest when using the plastic bags. As to the amount of seeds - well I figure most people have small gardens. So I will venture to say that a measuring teaspoon of tiny seeds is more than enough (like Poppy seed size) and 10-15 larger seeds (Hollyhock seed size) is plenty to share with each person. I did a simple web search on Startpage.com and got these results for seed envelopes. http://theseedsite.co.uk/envelope.html http://www.blossomswap.com/envelopes.html

I have been working on seeds for the last few weeks. Don't have tons but I am sure I could put 20 or so in pkgs. Normally that is lots to trade.
I will be ready with a list of what I have available prob next week some time. I have a project on the go at the moment I need to get finished.
