Wobbly cat

Good morning,

I have a real concern about our 13 yr. of male grey tabby, Tigger. A few days ago he started sneezing which he has done in the past and all was fine. For the last 3 - 4 days we have noticed him wobbly on his legs. It seems when he looks up he loses his balance. We are going to take him to the vet today to have him tested. Does anyone have any idea what might be causing this wobbliness.

We have recently lost our 14 yr. old persian female to a broken pelvis which devastated us. Tigger has been acting quite normally in the last few weeks. I'm sure he noticed the loss but he has seemed normal.
Thank you so much. My husband is quite upset about this as Tigger is his 'best friend'.

I'm not entirely sure. My best guess would an upper respiratory infection that has maybe made some fluid build up in his sinus'. That might caught some pressure on his head that could maybe make him dizzy?

It could easily just be old age as well...

If he seems like he is getting too upset or lonely from the loss of your other cat you might want to consider adopting another cat of the same age from a shelter. Some cats are solitary creatures but most are not.

Good luck at the vets! Let us know how it goes.

Classic symptom of an inner ear infection. I hope the vet catches it. Recovery (with medication) is slow, but don't worry, it's curable.
