pomwithhairloss

i need help...i am interested in rescueing this little 2yr old pom with no hair, well only hair on his head....i think he was misdiagnosed...if any one has any info about poms and their health would be greatly appreciated....the woman has had him for 6 mths, she has other dogs and they don't have the hair loss, nor does the human have any itching...he was diagnosed with sarcoptic mange? i need help determining what i should do. she just wants to get rid of him...please help..

Sarcoptic mange is usually transmitted to humans (scabies), so I wonder if it is actually demodex mange which rarely is passed on to humans?

Here is a link to info about Sarcoptic Mange:

A link about Demodex Mange:

Edited:
I would get another skin scraping done at another vet aswell as an overall physical exam, before you consider adopting.
Is he being treated for the sarcoptic?

Smile my Pom too

Hi;
Have you checked ( with your vet ) into a condition that affects the breed which causes hair loss? Maybe checking out a couple of Pomeranian web sites might help, there is lots of info there on these conditions.
