cat kennel cough??
I recently adopted a puppy from the humane society, when I brought him home he had a slight cough. After about a week and a half it disappeared but now my cat seems to have developed sneezing and a lot of coughing, my question is, is it transferred between dogs and cats??? Is there something I can give the cat??
Thanks orville |

It would make sense to me if it did transfer from dog to cat as it is a cold is it not.
My cat right now has a cold and it just finishing up her antibiotic. So a trip to the vet or just call in for an antibiotic I think is in order. Let us know what happens and how things turn out for you. ok.Meg |

fyi, i was a volunteer at a local animal shelter and stayed in the dog room as I had cats at home at the time. Cat diseases are easily transmitted from sick cats to objects, cats, people, and I guess a puppy could carry the germs too. When I worked at the shelter, I always washed my hands after handling a strange cat and changed my clothing and washed again upon returning home to protect my own cats. All of my pets, house cats included, receive their annual vaccinations and bordetella vaccines even though the cats never go outside. Hope your pet family is feeling better, of course, they do need to go to the vet for treatment.
