French interview on Puppy mills !!!!!

"Tout le monde en parle" on Radio-Canada Sunday (tomorrow) at 8 pm (until 10 pm)

Johanne Tassé the founder of CAACQ (Companion Animal Adoptions Centers of Quebec) will be there , it's a program with lots of guests , it's not a 2 hours special on puppy mills , usually guests have 10-15 minutes each. But still , I'm sooo glad this will be airing in french , it's about time !

thanks fosterpat for letting me know

WOW....that is great news, Frenchy.

Glad to hear that you are finally getting some media attention out to the French population in Quebec.

I hope it really helps to get the word out and make people realize all the sadness that these puppy mills cause.

Not bad, a bit short, but she spoke well and didn't mince words, at one point referring to the number of animals regularly euthanized for want of homes as 'genocide'. I bolted to another station when they showed a short extract from the recent documentary, but the images were not the worst I've seen. At the end they brought in several dogs her organization has up for adoption, so I hope they get some calls.

The main thing is that the show has a huge audience in Quebec. Although her French was impeccable, they are looking for a francophone spokesperson. Anyone interested?

Yes, I agree, it was very short. But has an insider, I do know that they cut some of what she had said. She did say that the majority of pet shop dogs are from puppy mills!! Also, another good point is that there are great adult dogs, available for adoption and they are definately less work than a puppy. The dogs that were seen on the show, came from different rescues in the area. Rosie, Animatch and 2 other rescues had dogs there. She did also mention that all dogs and cats should be spayed/neutered.
As for the french representative....they are looking for a known public person to represent them, ie. artist, comedian, politician, journalist. Anyone with more power in Quebec. Just to be invited to this extremely popular show is a huge plus....lets hope interviews like this one continue and people will finally get the message!
