Cool! I was able to download a couple of the pics! (Having no luck with the tracking ones, though )

I've always loved lichens but I don't ever recall seeing the fruiting bodies on any of them. Or maybe I've seen some but just didn't know what I was looking at. We have some lovely lichens on the trees here.

The fruiting bodies in my pics are about 1-2mm in diameter, so unless you were looking reeeeaaaaalllly close, they'd be easy to miss. Others' are much smaller, and some stay quite flat against the main part of the lichen.

Next time I go out lichen hunting, I'll have to bring the big magnifying glass, then. Do they fruit at a particular time of year?

I suspect these fruiting bodies formed in teh summer/fall and are now dormant, but I've seen them year-round.

Very to see up close some of the micro-sized lifeforms we normally pass by w/out ever knowing/seeing they are there
