Question Teeth extraction in montreal

Hi everyone,

I need to find a vet that will remove 4 teeth on my little cat Spooky (12 year old)

I just got out of the vet, and it's really expensive (around 800$) so is there are place in Montreal cheaper or is this the average price?

He's just got sick and I treat him with some meds from the vet (for vomiting) and I think I will recover just fine, but that's problably he's bad teeth the cause of the problem (he got also a big fever last weekend, and he stop eat and drink)

thanks
-Cristian

I would call other local vets because this price is totally unreasonable. This should not cost more than $500.00 (infact maybe lower).

I will PM you a vet that is very good and reasonable in price.

$800 really sounds expensive. Try this vet in the West Island, Dr. Laurent, Sources Veterinary Hospital 514-684-5443. I heard they are very good. Also Liesse Animal Hospital 514-631-1533 Otherwise you can call other vets maybe closer to your home. It sure pays to shop around.

Teeth extraction

If you are willing to travel to Howick, Quebec. They are located on the south shore, the 45 minute drive is worth the savings. I don't know about a cat but our dog had quite a few teeth removed there, and she only charged $250.00 rather than $1,200 at a Vet in Pierrefonds.

Actually $800 isn't so terribly out of line, depending on what that includes. Pre-op bloodwork, blood pressure monitoring, gas anesthetic, IV fluids before and during, pain-meds (make sure you get post-op pain meds!), antibiotics, x-rays . . . . all add up, and if the vet isn't incorporating all of the above, especially in a 12 yr old cat, then I wouldn't be getting the procedure done by that vet.

Talking

Thanks you all for your information, in fact I don't have the estimate on paper, so first, I will ask one because he just start to eat again and he look really fine... so, I will definitively go with the teeth extraction.

I will let you know the details, so if it can help someone else ;-)

thanks again
-Cris
