Montreal - Dorion
Is there anyone who could assist me in transporting a rescue cat to a clinic in Dorion (just off the West Island)? I don't have a car and public transport will not take animals. It's important that I get him there quickly, so he doesn't lose his place. Any suggestions gratefully received.

willing to help
Hi Badger,
I have a pretty good idea where you are taking the cat to. Let me know where you are at and I will try to help you get the cat there. Thanks.

cat carrier on metro?
Are you able to bring the cat part of the way in a carrier on the metro? I seem to remember our foster in the plateau area doing this with her cats when they needed to go to the vets. That way I could meet you in NDG at Vendome Metro and head the rest of the way by car with the cat.

No problem. Just let me know when. If we could do it outside of rush hour, that would be preferable; my cage is enormous and might not be welcome in a crowd!

rush hour
I would have to agree with Rush hour. I don't really like driving in it myself. I will PM you with my number and we can set something up for around lunchtime tomorrow or otherwise.

This is what I like to see - people working together to help animals.
Thanks BMDLuver. |

Thank you so much BMD. I hope he behaved himself in the car but if his purrfect behaviour in the metro was any indication, he was probably fine.
I confess that I called the clinic just to check that he was OK. They like him alot and I know he is in good hands (sniff). He calmed down so much over the past few days, really an angelic cat, with his little voice, in the morning we would greet each other with a head butt, Tibetan style. Wish I could've kept him, but this is next best. |

Badger, this is not Simon you have delivered, right? It's the beautiful silver tabby...? It's amazing how things can work out when people care

Not Simon, never. My little fraidy-cat is staying put! I'm not sure there's such a thing as a silver tabby, anybody know?

I din't know Badger, but Rocky is a brown tabby and this one certainly looks silver....we now created a new breed
Is he going to some sort of shelter??? At least he'll be out of the terrible Quebec winter and might even get a nice warm home, right?

A woman called Debbie Raymond set this up, she knew there was a place and picked the tabby to fill it. It's a vet clinic just off the Island of Montreal which takes in rescues, neuters them, makes sure they're healthy, and then they are adopted out. I'm not sure of the connection with Lucky's group but they're obviously animal lovers par excellence; when I called it sounded pretty busy but the woman let me warble on - always a good sign when people let me warble

Dr. Julie and Dr.Louise are Lucky Rescue's vets and they are super! They take care of all our cats.
We help them get their strays and dumped cats adopted, and they help us by taking cats like yours, Badger, in emergencies. A win/win relationship. |

car ride
He was a purrrrfect gentleman on the car ride, sat in the passenger's seat with his head poking out while receiving ear rubs and chin scratches. Really going to make someone a lovely new addition!
