Yogurt & Pumpkin

My girl will happily eat her veggies and fruits as long as they are mixed with something like yogurt. I was thinking for a little change perhaps I could use pumpkin instead of yogurt at dinner time. I've gotten a little confused when trying to search for info on these two items.

Is Plain Non-fat yogurt okay? Or should I be looking for something else?
How much yogurt should be added to her morning meal?
Am I correct that I should look for plain, canned pumpkin - no spices, etc?
How much pumpkin for her dinner meal?

My girl is about 45-50 lbs.

Any info/suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

We're talking about a dog, here, yes? She isn't eating just fruits and veggies, is she? Many fruits will give a dog diarrhea...and veggies aren't bad for her in small amounts, but she'll need something meat-based as well.

As for yogurt and pumpkin--they're generally given for different reasons. Yogurt is a mild pro-biotic and can help keep the fauna in the intestine at a healthy mix. Pumpkin is a source of fiber--it can firm up a loose stool or loosen up a too-firm stook depending on how much you supplement with. Use less to firm up a loose stool; more to soften a stool.

Plain yogurt is fine--with or without the fat. Look for something with no artificial sweeteners or colors and with active cultures.

The pumpkin should be 100% pumpkin pack, no spices.

Our dogs are about the same size as your girl and get a 1 - 2 Tbsp of plain yogurt with their morning meal and about 1 Tbsp of pure pumpkin with their evening meal.

Hope that helps!

Sorry! Yes, she (my dog )gets more than fruits/veggies. She just gets a little of each per meal with her NV Raw and some kibble.

Thank you sooo much for your help!

Here is my baby girl - Kira. The vet believes she is a Heeler and Pointer mix. She is 7 years old and was a stray that I took in at about 4-5 mths of age.
