Sorry, I couldn't check this thread earlier. I believe there is a local rescue group who is now involved. I needed someone local to go to the shelter and pull the dogs so we could get working on the transport. Unfortunately, I believe one of the two dogs has already been pts. I think the other will be safe. Well I hope so.

Inverness, how do you find out about these dogs needing help??
Is there a network of rescuers pulling dogs, who will otherwise be euthanized??

I am on different lists and receive messages all the time, yes. In this case, it had to do with the fact that there was a GSP in need, and that I specialize in pointers.

Thank's Inverness,sorry for being nosy
We read about these incredible stories, dogs beeing rescued, transported long stretches,by wonderful people who care
I also realize thousands are being euthanized each year,it's an impossible task to save them all:sad:

No. It's been a complete communication nightmare, the volunteers who deal with the rescues don't know the status of the dog who was to be pts, so I don't even know if he's alive or not. The other dog, the GSP, is supposed to be pulled by a local rescue on Monday.
