Cool Silk

When I bought Jarrah a wading pool to cool off in I didn't think the shelties would be interested, but Silk now thinks it belongs to her. If she isn't asking me to lift her into it, she's lying next to it and giving Jarrah dirty looks for using it. Brave sheltie when Jarrah outweighs her by at least 20 kilos. Always was apprentice alpha female to her mother though.

Golly, just checking ages and she's now 13, Gemma is 12 in March, the 2 litter brothers, Matthew and Toby are 10, and Dundee and Bo are 8. Time spent with them becomes precious once they get up in years like this.

She's a beauty, GF! Does she actually lie down in it? Can't picture a sheltie wanting to get wet!!

Shes beautiful, doesn't look her age. Shelties are fearless, ours was half her size and her favorite pastime was to chase my sisters dog away when they were visiting. Her dog is great dane/pit bull.

Your sheltie sounds like her mother, lindapalm. When we looked after a Collie sized sheltie boy for 3 months one time, Tammie didn't waste any time chasing him and ticking him off, and he never bothered her after that. His bad habit though, due to him being an only 'child' where he lived was that he'd rush my boys and go to bite them on the back. Not to hurt, he just didn't know how to act appropriately, but they were all wary of him. I'd have died laughing at yours seeing a great dane/pit bull off. LOL. Big woosy dog scared of a liddle sheltie.
You are right, Hazel, she doesn't lie down in the water. But then, all of my dogs were born in the severe drought we had and I found I had dogs who didn't even like stepping off the path onto wet ground. Of course the shelties did get lots of baths, maybe that's what put them off? LOL. Jarrah doesn't lie down either, it'll be interesting to see if she does when it hits 40 to 45C next month.
