House cat bites toad

My house cat snuck out and found a toad. The toad got away, however, my cat was foaming at the mouth and running away from me. It's too late to call our vet...any suggestions?

I wouldn't worry about it too much. The foaming is a result of the liquid the toad secretes as a defense mechanism. it happened to one of my cats this summer too - she found the toad, brought it into my livingroom, promptly dropped it, and ran out making faces... she was fine about 20 min later. She learned real quick not to bite anymore toads.

Smile Toad Tasting

Thank you for the post. My husband and I managed to rinse Shadow's mouth out. It was a little nerve-racking, but we all survived. By the way, she hasn't tried to sneak out, since the toad tasting incident!
