Smile Buying Heartworm Med's Online

I noticed in previous years that people have bought their Heartworm Med's from an online store called: Vet Direct International (http://www.vetproductsdirect.com.au/vetprods/index.asp)

My question is has anyone used this company recently from Canada and if they are reliable. I'm a little concerned being that they are in Australia. Also is it true that they do not require a prescription from the vet for the Heartworm medications.
Their prices are looking awful good compared to what our Veterinarian is charging and when I'm buying for 4 dogs it would be a great savings.
Thanks

I've been ordering heartguard from them for the past 2-3 years now. And yes , you don't need a prescription if you are from Canada. It can sometimes take up to 2 months to get it by mail but for the price , it's well worth the wait !

Buying Heartworm meds online

I have ordered from them for the past 3 years. Saves me lots of money. I just order about 6 weeks before I need it because shipping does take a while.

Thank you both Frency & Coppperbelle for your quick replies. I appreciate the information and I now feel more comfortable ordering from this company.
I will get on in right away in hopes that it will be here before our dogs usual start of their heartworm program which is usually the end of May for us. It sure will be nice to save some money

Good to know. I am looking at a 250 heartguard bill from the vet. This site looks alot cheaper. I always get scared buying stuff like that off the net though

I just found another site selling without prescriptions. Northvet.com Based out of Vancouver.
On their site it says: "The products we sell (such as Revolution and Heartgard) are shipped from a jurisdiction where no prescription is required. Therefore you do not require a prescription for any products found on this site."
All prices are quoted in US dollars so it's a little more expensive but I would imagine arrival would be a lot faster than the one in Austrlia. They also do not charge for shipping.
Has anyone ever use them before?

I have gone ahead and ordered from Northvet.com for the Heartworm meds.
Ordering was very simple and they even offer payments using Paypal.
I also found a coupon code to get $10.00 off an order over $65.00 that was accepted plus there is no shipping and handling fee. The Code is: 10FREE65.
I saved about 50% of what I paid for the meds last year with the vet.
I will try and remember when the order comes in to let you all know how it was.
Cheers

I just made my first online oder for Revolution!!
I hope all goes well

I called the vet last night to make an apointmest for Buddy's rabies and other shots, and was told to get revolution, Buddy had to get a heartworm exam, but he's on revolution so it would cost $125.00 for revolution, and 48.00 plus tax for the exam plus the cost of the shots ($79.00 plus tax) OMG.

ordering online $81.00 US total

I went with northvet, we'll see how it goes.

I thought rabies shots were good for 2 years ?

It depends on the vet and where you live. My old vet gave them every year, but my new vet does them every 3 yrs.

So I guess I have to find a new vet  My vet says he has to give all shots (rabies included) every year
