Third eye lid
My 4 year old Standard Poodle's eyes droop, weep greenish/gray matter, and her third eyelids rise (nearly covering her entire eye) whenever she is tired or has experienced stress (as in grooming). She has been on several rounds of antibiotics, and two rounds of Prednisone (the last one for a full 30 days) . . . to treat both a staff infection and possible Horner's syndrome. She has also experienced a dry nose for almost two years; which cleared up after her first round of Prednisone, returned, and then cleared up again on the second round. Also, her nails hallowed out and that also cleared up with Prednisone. The issue with her eyes just continues to worsen and I am concerned that if we cannot resolve this issue that it may be fatal. Any advice that you can give will be appreciated.

Vet visit
Went to a new vet today. He believes that there is some irritation in her ear that may be causing her to scratch or continue to aggravate the nerve that goes to the eye. He gave her a shot of anti-inflammatory and some medicine for both the eye and the ear. At this point he does not believe that what is going on is severe. We will return to the vet in 3 weeks, or if her situation changes.

Does it look kinda like this?
http://www.aht.org.uk/images/conjunc6.jpg Is there a whitish/greenish gunk that stayes in the eye, in the droopy area? Have your vet test your dog for dry eye. My dog has it, which causes friction and makes the third eyelid (which is actually a gland) pop out, which is called cherry eye. The third eyelid/gland is responsible for making tears, so the long it is out the more chance it has of getting damaged and reducing tear production.
