Dog whistles

Hi. I am currently looking into finding a dog whistle, you know the ones that humans can't hear but dogs can. I saw that someone on here had one and I thought it sounded like an excellent idea. However, I haven't been able to find one. Does anyone know anywhere that sells them?

Got mine at the local pet store. It was amongst the leashes and collar tags.

You should be able to pick one up at any pet/feed store. They are the long thin ones and you will be able to here some of the frequencies. Never blow it for more than 2 seconds at a time.

Thanks guys. Has anyone else ever used one? If so are they really difficult to use as a training tool if you can't hear them?

You can adjust the frquency to something low enough to hear if you want. Many people prefer this for whatever reason. I like it silent 'cause then I can blow it in the house all I want without upsetting other humans.

Even silent, you can hear the air blowing through it, so you have some idea of what you are doing.

Mine actually came with the diclaimer that dogs will not automatically come when you blow the whistle, they must be trained first. lol.

What commands are you planning on training to the whistle?
