which do you like better?

The color photo, or the b&w one?

I much prefer the B&W, but I'm not sure I like the movement... think Maïka is in the way. Sorry TD...

I like the B&W. I think it is because of the grass, I think it looks better with B&W

i could photoshop her out

hard to pose dogs and make them do what you want, specially when the ice cold wind is blowing and your frozen gloved hands are on a crappy cheap digicam and your nose is leaking.... and the doggies have a mind of their own. maybe next time i'll get luckier!

I prefer the colour. I think it brings out the colour in the doggies but, I do think the movement in the grass is more striking in the b&w. And I do agree that Maika needs to be "surgically removed" from Dakotah's behind!

What about doing both ? I like the shot of Dakotah solo (everybody else removed) in b&w.

I originally liked the colour better but the more I looked at them the more the b&w pic intrigued me.

i had no intention of capturing such a "dog acrobatics" moment... had i known, i would have shushed maika away but that's what you sometimes get when you snap so many photos and hope luck will get you an interesting one or two!

I like it. You could always crop everything to the right of Layla's tail.

Until I saw the other thread, I totally thought Layla was an off color JRT.

Helps with the speed when the snow brightens everything up...

i think color is best for a group shot..........if you could get one of the dogs as alone in the grass...then bw would work.

Definitley B&W.
I love the way black and white hides color variation flaws and it can add so much more depth to a picture.
Amazing thing with pets is there is NEVER a bad picture right? They are all perfect to somebody, especially us proud mom's and dad's.

Cropping Maika would make the picture perfect.
Leaving her in it makes it a memory not to be forgotten.

awe yeah i wasn't looking for a perfect photo, just a nice memory from a fun playtime the kids had together on a gloomy sunday afternoon. Maika will stay in the photo of course, because she was part of the action I was just playing around with colors, contrasts, blurs, etc... i still can't decide if i like the color or b&w better, it depends on which monitor i see it from and my moods! duh

Hey, we should have a photo critiquing section... Where we post our pics and ask for photographic technique feedback. I have a feeling people would be a lot nicer (gentler) here than on photography sites.

Yeah that's a good idea, and for those of us without any technique, (me )we can learn from what others say And I agree, people will be nicer, because no one is claiming to be a professional, yet there are some people here who could be

I think the orange purse draws your eye away from the doggies in the colour pic.

It's a good picture either way, and a great memory. In the B&W, it looks like a newspaper photo.
