Talking Prin - To Torture you!

Thought this one would be darn hard for you to resist. He's 4 months old and full of beans at the moment. But the biggest softest fuzzball going!

My husband is looking longingly over my shoulder at this guy. What a beautiful dog !! I think if we were closer and he saw him in person we would HAVE to bring him home.

OMG.. BMD, I don't think I've ever looked at your shelter's listing before.. but I've never seen a shelter full of so many breeds I adore!! I could so take 3/4 of the shelter home no problem.. awwww..

We do have adopters come from fair distances quite often as in Quebec, these breeds are more common to come in to rescue but don't seem to elsewhere as much. Sort of a sad comment for Quebec really. Would love to never see them in need or rarely.

I adore the big guys and no one else really takes them in here other than myself and Sasha's Den gets a few xlarge as well. The other rescues just aren't set up to deal with them I would imagine.

I couldn't imagine not having a few gentle giants around. Much easier to me than the little one's but that's probably because I'm very tall and get nervous about stepping on the little ones by accident as they seem to be underfoot quite often. With the big guys, I feel them there!

Would you consider New Jersey a fair distance ? Honestly if the time was right I would make the drive, submit the application and consider it well worth the gas money. There's something about the look in his eyes and those big old fluffy ears.

Well you wouldn't be the first adopter from that State. First one adopted two of the ragdoll mixes.

Newfs all have those soulful eyes.

Ooohhhh, what a cutie!!!! I would try to snatch him up in a heartbeat if only our shepherd would allow it! She's of the opinion though that no other dogs are allowed to enter her domain and I suppose at nearly 12 years of age she's earned that right.....

And about him getting so big, my thought's exactly Prin, I'd be delighted if he turned out even bigger then expected

I suppose the vet costs involved in rescuing giants must be astronomical so I'm not surprised that there are not many rescues around that would take them on.... Thankfully there are people like you looking out for them

That is really sad BMD, I guess it does say something to have a larger number of the big ones up for adoption there. It is awesome to see a rescue specializing in big paws though. I 'browse' petfinder to see what local beauties have ended up in shelters, but the breeds close to my heart don't appear much. Or when they do they are snatched up so fast I wonder how sketchy some of the adoption policies are locally..

Wish I was closer to you so I could help out

Thanks everyone! I've loved them since I was a little girl sitting on a dock in Newfoundland surrounded by 6 of them. My parents had a hard time convincing me to leave that day.

I appreciate the help received for each one that comes in and will be forever grateful for the help.

Nothing like a massive boobly to snuggle with on a rough day!

How fluffy and adorable is he??? I'm sure he'll be snapped up in no time at all.

Only 4 months old...guess his owners didn't waste any time dumping him.

The lady that had him kept saying, had no idea they could get this big.. she had him for two months.. I so wanted to say "It's a Newf for dog's sake, how could it be small?" but bit my tongue.
