Westminister Dog-Show

I was watching 3 hours of dogs yesterday, wonderful stuff Beautiful dogs in all categories.
Just one stupid question,I know dogs with lots of hair are beautiful and a lot of work, but do they always win?
Yesterday there was not one smooth-haired dog that won, either in working, sporting or any other category, they all had TONS of hair, why do they seem to always win??
There were so many beautiful dogs,I thouroughly enjoyed those 3 hours, was amazed at the Bull Mastiff,Great Dane and the red Dobermann and the Chi,Oh well,I was amazed at them all

They don't always win! I attend shows sometimes with my breeders, I always get a laugh. All those people there for hours primping and preening with all their cleaning concoctions and brushes and dryers, and we just walk in with the dogs shortly before the show and into the ring we go, no muss no fuss.

Well,I guess you're right the Pointer who won"Best in Show"was a stunning dog....smooth hair and all
I for some reason feel sorry for the dogs who loose,it's not like they know....and they had already won their categories.
Great show though!!!

We watched the dog show that was on Thanksgiving day, and I don't remember who won, but I love short haired dogs. Even when we had poodles and cocker spaniels, we kept them in a puppy cut. No offense to anyone on here, but I hate the fancy poodle 'do that they use in the shows. I feel sorry for the poor dogs who are wearing it, like the other dogs are making fun of them.
