Hello
I have owned cats, dogs and birds and everything in between.
I am currently owned by a three-legged Rottie and a cat. The reason I joined this list because my sister asked me a question that I cannot answer. Can someone tell me if she was to use a pee pad for her dog, will it attract her cats to use it also? My sister's works schedule suddenly changed (someone at work had emergency surgery). Now my sister works very long hours and she recently adopted a very, very small chihuahua. Because of her work schedule, the dog can't hold it until she gets home and pees in her crate. My sister wants to put down pee pads but is afraid that her cats will start using it. Hence the question. Any input would be appreciated. Thank you. Yvonne |

I highly doubt it. The cats should continue to use the litter box as long as it's kept clean. I really see no reason for a cat to try to mark over a dogs pee. As long as everyone is spayed or neutered there shouldn't be any territorial marking to begin with.
