Lump on my dogs lip

Hi im new to this site. my dog has had a lump on his outer lip now for about 3 weeks. i was hoping it would go away on its own, but its still there. it hasnt gotten any bigger, and it doesnt bother him when i touch it. but it looks horrible. was just wondering if anyone could tell me what it is? i live in a small town, the closest vet is 3 hours away. i have enclosed a picture. thank you.

Sorry I can't help with this, perhaps someone will come along that can give you an idea. Best thing is to try to get to a vet somewhere for a positive diagnosis. Is there a large animal vet somewhere near you?

If it were white, I would say viral, but it's not white. I'm not sure how to tell the difference between a benign skin tag, and something, say, cancerous. I would be inclined to make that 3 hour drive. If you can send the picture to the vet, maybe they can tell you if they will want to schedule removal, and you can do everything in one trip?
