Unhappy Difficult to Diagnose-motor probs

I have a very serious problem regarding my Giant Schnauzer.
He has symptoms like Wobblers and has been uncoordinated for 40 days now. Rimadyl helped only for 10 days (but never helped 100%). Myelogram, blood work, spinal tap, all normal!
Reflexes all there but a bit slower on hind legs. Dog sways when standing, even more when trying to drink. Falls on his side easily. On cortisone for 2 days showing great improvement (does not shake at all when drinking, walking, head sways a slight bit sometimes. Hind legs seem less coordinated than front but they do not drag, they just slide out or don't follow the front ones well... This is so hard to describe in so little space.
Dog is better on Cortisone but vet has no idea what the trouble is.
Thought it was a disk but now (due to negative tests) thinks brain trouble. WHAT COULD THIS BE?
My Giant is 9 years old and has NO arthritis anywhere and was in peak form until just weeks ago. Does any one have any ideas?
What should I do?
Is it possible for a myelogram to miss a spinal problem?
Could this be a brain tumor?
Should I give some vitamins to help the nerves wake up?
HELP?
I have an earie feeling the Cortisone will help only temporarily and I need to find out what is wrong before things get worse again. Could this be Degenerative Myelopathy? Or a brain virus? Or what? I promised my boy I'd help him. Please, someone help me do that.

I suggest an attempt with chiropractic treatment more specifically neurological chiropractic care.
