New Dog Mom
Hi All,
I'm new to the site, and a new dog owner.... I've always had cats, but wow, dogs are a completely different story! |

I'm with you on that. I was a cat person all my life. About 6 1/2 years ago my husband (at the time) brought home this tiny GSD puppy. 6 months later the hubby was gone (yeah!) and I was left with this dog that was starting to really get big. I didn't have a clue! I wouldn't recommended a GSD being a person's first experience with a dog on their own. Shed many tears over trying to get him to listen. I adore him to no end but he is definitely more work than the cats.

bichon love
I'm embarrased to admit this, but I NEVER thought I would be a dog lover... Now I'm addicted! I live close to the lake and make a point to pet every dog I see on the street now.... I've come home many a time stinking like Lake Ontario!!!

I hear that, I always had cats, and as much as I love my 2 kittens (15 years old now) I have a different feeling about the puppy. He is like my shadow now after only 4 months, he was also my premature replacement for my cat who would have been the only cat in the house that would have gotten along with him (she used to sleep in our neighbours kennel with a GSD that I would not go near). I used to also have a strange fear of certain dogs, my friend breeds staffodshire pitbulls, I never know what they were but I used to love playing with them as they were so pig headed and fun, but if I saw most dogs in yards not tied up (I was a builder for a time) I would panic. Now I make a point of playing with every dog I meet, they usually smell the treats on me and they go nuts. They trully are addictive and the best psychologists money can buy.
