Question Cat's In Heat

I HAVE A 6 MONTH OLD TONKINESE CAT THAT HAS JUST CAME INTO HEAT....I HAD NO IDEA THAT IT COULD HAPPEN THIS SOON....SHE IS A VERY VOCAL CAT TO BEGIN WITH AND NOW THAT SHE'S IN HEAT, SHE'S EVEN LOUDER.....CONSTANTLY PACING, MEOWING AND KEEPS US UP AT NIGHT......MY QUESTION IS, AND THIS MIGHT BE A STRANGE QUESTION, BUT MY HUSBAND SWEARS THAT A VET TOLD HIM TO USE A Q TIP TO HELP HER OUT....DOES THIS REALLY WORK? SHOULD I TRY IT??....I HAVE AN APPT. FOR HER TO BE SPAYED, BUT IT'S NOT UNTIL JANUARY 25TH....PLEASE TELL ME IF THIS IS SAFE....DEBBIE

Hi,

I would absolutely NOT try it.

There are vaginal plugs that you can get from a vet. Those might well work but ask your vet how to use it.

Do not risk using a Q-tip.
