Somehow, Grace pretty much always manages to stay clean
 Don't know how she does that, but I sure wish she'd teach the others And yes, Ember was actually playing! He doesn't do that often, but he does have his moments. I thought you'd enjoy seeing him in action, growler.

Holes are great for cooling bellies
Especially if the hole is shaded under the raspberry bushes.  I'm sure Sienna and Nelly are just digging a hole so that Mom can crawl in with them and keep cool, Frenchy!

We're supposed to be much cooler tomorrow
 And drier--we've had over 6 inches of rain in less than two weeks...the ground is definitely squishy! I'm hoping it'll be sunny tomorrow and cool enough for the Pack to want to play again. I want to try out the multiple-frames-per-second feature on the camera

DD, unfortunately, they all do have hidey holes!
I'm continually reminding them that their hole collection is big enough and maintained to perfection--no further expansion or maintenance needed...but of course, they don't listen! L4H, Grace already has two "cool places" of her very own, dug with her very own diminutive paws, plus (being the smallest) she can fit in everyone else's. She's a very well-cooled dog!  Nipper belongs to a very exclusive club, babymomma. Aspen (Cole's grandpa and Grace's great-grandpa) is a real water dog! He'll jump in after and retrieve a bumper thrown from the dock--again and again! Cole and Grace just watch him disbelievingly from the safety of the shore. As for dirty dogs...I'll save you some pics next time we get a good mud wrestle going, chico!

Oh, you bet!!!
Can you imagine how excited they'd be if someone actually asked them to dig a hole?!? They'd be in seventh heaven...and likely you'd end up with a totally relandscaped yard...as in completely excavated! Where would you like them to put the dirt?
