Pet Insurance?

Looking for people's experiences with pet insurance.

I had to put my six year old male cat down in August due to a urinary blockage. The vet wanted $1200 for a surgery that "might" work. We simply couldn't afford it.

I got a new male kitten in October and wondering if I should get pet insurance that will cover such things if it happens to this guy.

Wondering what your experiences have been with pet insurance? What's a good one to go with if any at all?
