Can she be allergic?

Hi All

I decided to try another flavor of the DVP canned food. For over a month Tabitha and Bomber have been eating the DVP Venison and GP. As some of you know getting them on the canned has been a challenge.

Anyway I decided I would get them a can of the DVP Salmon..They seemed interested and sat down to eat. Bomber did not eat all of it but a good portion. Tabitha on the other hand who has become the pig of canned food ate hers and as soon as she finished it came right back up! and pretty quickly..she seemed out of sorts for about an hour or so but appears fine this morning?

Just wondering could she be allergic to the salmon?

Not sure what it could be, maybe the salmon is richer then the venison? Venison meat tends to be very lean.

I'd chalk it up to "scarf n barf". Regurgitation, likely from eating to fast, not true vomiting. Back when my cat was still eating dry food, sometimes he would inhale it so fast (without chewing, of course) that he'd barf it up right back into his bowl! Maybe spreading out the canned into a thinner layer that takes longer to eat would help. Or just give her small amounts at a time for a few days. If it happens again, it could also be a defense mechanism of her stomach reacting to new ingredients. Not likely a true allergy. Has she had much salmon before?

SCmom...no she has never had salmon before! I think I will try it again! Maybe she was just eating too fast! I am just trying to get them to eat more than just the venison..

She has become the canned food piggy in this house! Every time I go in the kitchen she follows me and cries! I cant wait to get her weighed! Even a pound or 2 would make me so happy!
