Garden help.... again.
I figured out the culprit eating my garden. It is a brown shinny beetle. I can take a picture, maybe tomorrow.
Also, it is now turning brown. It has been really rainy and hot here, could that be the reason. It will rain for ano hour or so, then the sun comes out. I am thinking that this is causing the leaves to scorch...... I could be wrong though. This is my first garden. I just need some help with making my garden pretty again. I will love you all forever if you could help me out with this, and give me some good suggestions. And NO we aren't using pesticides!!!! James said even if I wanted to, it is completely forbidden on our plants...... Any help would be greatly appreciated. TIA!!!!!!

put a bit of dishsoap in a pump bucket, like the ones you use to spray water etc? do your plant leaves and stalks with that, it will reduce the number of bugs/grubs that attact the leaves, as for drying out, put mulch around the bottom of the plants to hold in the moisture, only water at night or very early in the morning to give the leaves a chance to dry before the sun reflects on them, the sun will go directly to the wet leaves and leave them burnt.

I suppose there isn't much I can do about the rainy days then? Some times it just stops raining, and sun comes out, before the leaves dry My poor garden. Well, it is to be expected that it wasn't going to go the best for me, with it being my first garden. I have mulch, I forgot all about laying it down, after it sprouted! I should do that tomorrow...... Well, if I can stand the heat. With humidity, it was 104F today..... over 95F actual temp..... Well, I can't be doing to bad on my garden, it has lots of blossoms!!!
Melinda, thanks for mentioning the mulch, I would have forgotten all about it. Your the best! That mulch has been sitting in our garage since the middle of April, and I never go in there, that much, so I forgot all about it.

What is the soap / water ratio? I don't want to use too much soap, but I don't want it to be too little either.......
